What better way to begin a year of adventure than with a New Year’s Eve Party?
Long ago, during my bachelor days, I hosted a blow-out New Year’s eve party for many, many years every December 31st. Each year had a theme and I always looked forward to the creative aspects of the party. I also loved creating connections between people, and it was always an adventure to see who would actually attend.
I was discussing this with my friend Dana and he suggested that I revive the idea. Historically, it’s also a significant day for Sherry and me, since we fell in love on that fateful New Year’s 1989, which just so happened to be the first year that I did NOT host a party (so maybe not hosting is better luck…?).
I was quite surprised, but Sherry agreed it would be a great idea. We began by inviting a few friends, which grew into a crowd of more than thirty. I was incredibly pleased to see that friends from different parts of our lives intermingled well, and got to know each other. Many commented on how great it was to meet new people. That’s exactly the kind of adventure we are after!
